Since graduating with a degree in Fine Art in 2003, Helen moved to Manchester, drank loads of tea and did a million temp jobs. Having learned to knit twice in her life, and subsequently forgotten, Helen taught herself to crochet (and re-taught herself to knit) during a stint of tedious unemployment, and bam! a love story began.
helenmakes finally found its feet in 2010, and since then Helen has crocheted and knitted approximately a bajillion crazy things on request. She has also led a number of workshops and been an active member of knitting groups, everywhere from Manchester to Huddersfield. It's been a wild ride, like.
These days Helen still drinks too much tea, but it's okay because sometimes she has herbal.
